On New Year’s Eve, we went to a party with some friends, where I was in charge of activities to keep the kids entertained. I found this balloon idea on Pinterest, where you pop one balloon every hour and there is a new activity written on a slip inside each balloon:
The first activity was a ‘penguin’ race. The kids had to race back and forth while keeping the balloon between their legs. Hyrum won the boy round! Cora had a bit of trouble keeping the balloon between her legs:
Another activity was making party hats (the glitter glue made a big mess- never again!):
Here was Zane’s activity:
Another activity was sparklers, poppers, and noise makers. We did it outside, and while we were out there, it started snowing!! We couldn’t do our fireworks, but having snow on New Year’s Ever in Tucson is pretty magical.
The other activity we did was Bingo. The rain ruled out s’more making, and the kids weren’t up late enough for Duck, Duck, Goose. There were also some props for photos:
On New Year’s, we woke up to a yard full of snow! Zane got his first experience in it:
The snow wasn’t really packable enough for a snowman or good snowballs, but Cora and Ryan were able to make some snow angels:
That afternoon we used some of our Christmas money to go to a movie together as a family, Big Hero 6. It was fun!
