We did a lot of fun Halloween activities this year! We went to Hyrum’s school Halloween Party, where we got candy, cookies, cotton candy, had a dance party, and saw Liberty:
The younger two went to a fun Halloween birthday party, where they crafted monsters out of play-dough, pinned the eye on the monster, and got to play in some streamers (Hyrum went to a different Halloween birthday party, but I have no pictures of that!):
We went to our branch Halloween party and chili cook-off, where Ryan got wrapped like a mummy by the youth:
And the kids also trunk-or-treated, and brought home quite a haul of candy!
We got festive and painted Cora’s nails for Halloween:
We got boo’ed and got to boo some neighbors in return:
Both Hyrum and Cora had Halloween parties at school, but I only got to go to Hyrum’s, where he got to play some games, eat a donut, and make a couple crafts:
Here’s the craft Cora made at her school party (she also got to make a pudding cup pumpkin patch, eat Halloween cookies, and do some Halloween dancing!):
While Mindi was here we made and decorated some Halloween sugar cookies for a friend’s Halloween party:
And of course, we dressed up! Hyrum was Squirtle (from Pokémon):
Cora was Jasmine:
Zane was Abu (from Aladdin):
I was a skeleton mommy, and Mindi was a prisoner:
Ryan was Pikachu:
The day before Halloween we made our traditional Halloween homemade pizza:
And carved our pumpkins:
This was the first year the kids actually helped gut the pumpkin, and this was also the first year Hyrum carved his own pumpkin! He did great- he even designed the whole thing by himself!
Mine is a pokeball, Mindi’s is the lamp from Aladdin:
They turned out pretty great!
On Halloween day, Mindi and Cora worked on a haunted house craft:
Then right before Mindi left we made ourselves and the kids into toilet paper mummies! (The kids really wanted to after seeing Daddy do it):
I took the kids out trick or treating that night (Ryan had to teach a class- as Pikachu), and we made it down 2.5 streets, both sides! All the kids got quite a haul of candy that they are still working on.
Zane loved it the most, I think (this being his first time), and was finally saying “trick or treat” and “thank you” by the end. He wasn’t ready to stop, but the older kids were! He insisted on carrying his bag, so it mostly dragged on the ground, and if someone offered him a bowl to choose from, he just kept grabbing candy until I pulled him away. He also liked to run to every house, so I put the stroller away after the first street.
I think we all had a great Halloween!
