June 2019

We had a great June! I love having the kids home for the summer!

I told Zane one night that he had had enough hugs for the night (it's one of his stalling techniques) so no more hugs. He then breathed out a big breath and said, "There- here's some stinky breath instead!"

Then and Now, Zane style:

When I lay by Zane at bedtime, he likes to lean over his bed to look at me on the floor and say, "you can think about Jesus, if you want."

This month Ryan has been working with Hyrum (and the other kids when they want) to try to get to 100 push-ups, sit-ups, and squats by the end of the summer:

Treatment time with the Schuetzlers:

I bought Cora ballet shoes, because she is taking a ballet class this summer. She has loved them so much, she started wearing them all around the house immediately and dancing all over the place! She even started her own little ballet class for our family:

Ryan got a beard ball game for his birthday from one of our friends. It's pretty funny:

Happy Father's Day to my love!

At night when I'm laying by Ivy she likes to tell me, "You're my best friend. I'm your best friend?"

I had to run a quick errand while Ryan was working from home one day and Hyrum was gone, so I told Cora to not bother Daddy and to help the little kids while I was gone. She said, "So, I'm, like, the boss?" It was a major Candice vibe from Phineas and Ferb! Jokes aside, she really does love to be in charge and is getting to be a better helper with the little kids!

Selfies with Cora:

Kids taking pictures with my phone:

We found out this month that Hyrum was accepted into the High Ability Learner (HAL) program at school! Go Hyrum!

Hyrum also has been doing a recreational swim team this summer, and he has improved so much! He loves to read too, so much so that he probably reads 2-4 hours a day:

Some kids do not liking getting random pictures taken of them:

Ivy has a strong love for ice packs and tissues/napkins/wipes. If given one, she will carry it around for hours, and ask for it at bedtime to sleep with.

We found Ivy sleeping under her bed one morning:

Hyrum, Zane, and Ivy had their big yearly CF appointment this year. It's a new thing they're doing where we have to bring in all of their treatment equipment to get checked, as well as see all the usual specialists, and get their labs and X-rays done. It was kind of an awful 7 hours (including lugging around 4 duffel bags and a giant purse full of stuff), but we made it, and I'm so grateful Ryan took a day off of work to help me with it! He even blew giant bubbles for the kids while we waited:

Ivy loves to have a baby doll every time she plays in Nursery at church. One of her favorite things to do with the babies is have them give bones to all the adults!

Me, Cora, Zane, and Ivy painted our nails this month, and they all just loved it!

Hyrum participated in the Raingutter Regatta for Cub Scouts this month. He loved building his boat and racing it- he even ended up winning 3rd place overall in his pack!

Ivy likes it when Hyrum sings "Hush Little Baby" with Alexa and rocks her like a baby (though she really is too big for that!):

Ivy likes to sing it to her baby too:

The kids found the face filters on my phone and have REALLY been loving them:
