Cora's 8th Birthday

Cora's birthday this year fell right in the middle of quarantine for the coronavirus, so we had to do things a little differently than previously planned.

Cora has wanted a birthday cake from Cold Stone Creamery for a few months now, and we were worried they might close due to the quarantine, so we ordered it early and ate it early, which she didn't seem to mind. Here's her Oreo ice cream cake!

On her actual birthday, she got breakfast in bed, just like she's wanted for months! She chose donuts and chocolate milk:

 Present time!

Cora got school supplies for her Our Generation dolls, a couple Beanie Boos, a scratch and sketch Beanie Boo book, Puppy Place and Never Girls books, BYU cheerleader outfit, Magic 8 ball, Trolls Legos, and a, Ozobot (that actually was broken, got returned, and was traded in for a large Lego Friends Lego set):

Since life was a whole lot different than originally planned for her birthday (she was excited to bring donuts to her friends at school, see her teacher and classroom dog, Phoebe, and see her best friend), we made another plan to have an at-home spa day instead!

We started with a chocolate face mask:

Then we did a foot soak and foot scrub:

Followed by a mani/pedi while they watched a Descendants show:

We ended with some temporary hair color and make-up! I think she loved the whole thing, but especially getting to have pink hair for a few days!

The younger two liked having their hair colored too:

We got 5.5 inches of snow the night before Cora's birthday, so we had to go enjoy it to celebrate her special day! She got to pick the names of the snowmen, in honor of her birthday, so she named them all Frozen characters- the two big ones were Anna and Kristoff, and we had Elsa, Olaf, Sven, and their little dog:

The kids then spent the afternoon playing games and playing with Cora's new toys:

One of Cora's favorite parts of her birthday was Facetiming with her best friend, Charis:

Cora's teacher posted a birthday video online for her as well, so she still got to see her teacher and the class dog. Some friends also dropped by some cookies, and her primary president dropped by a bag full of treats to celebrate as well!

We ended the night with a dinner of pesto pasta, garlic bread, and her very top pick: watermelon. Then we watched a Barbie puppy movie together, and finished with some Dippin' Dots for dessert. It was hard to fit her Beanie Boos candle in, but we did it!

Though it wasn't the birthday we had originally planned, it was still pretty fun! And now, she gets another birthday celebration in a few months when it's ok for her to have a birthday party with her friends! I think that's what she's most excited about. We also had to put off her baptism due to coronavirus, but hopefully that will happen in the next few months as well!
