We had a fun Easter this year! We got egged (twice, actually) by some friends, and the kids thought it was amazing to go find eggs randomly through the week (this is not traditional egging, it's just hiding some Easter eggs in a friend's yard, and then ringing their doorbell so they can find them). They also liked egging a couple of our friends too. Here they are at the first surprise:
The Saturday before Easter we had our traditional family Easter egg hunt!
The older kids even helped the younger kids find some eggs at the end:
That afternoon we went on The Great Omaha Easter Egg Hunt, which was where people colored pictures of eggs and put them up in their windows. Then, you drive around and count how many eggs you find. We drove around for about an hour just in the neighborhoods right around us and found over 300! Hyrum never thought we'd find that many, so he had to keep adjusting his estimate. It was a really fun way to celebrate the holiday, since so many other things were cancelled due to the corona virus.
Cora's egg we put up in our window:
On the hunt:
Sunday morning the kids woke up to some goodies in their baskets:
We had church and sacrament meeting at home (again), and it was actually wonderful. We sang along to some Shawna Edwards songs about Jesus Christ for our primary singing time, and I just felt the Spirit so strongly watching my little ones sing about our Savior!
I sure do love these kiddos:
The matching girls:
The matching boys (Ryan's socks matched the boys' bow ties):
Ivy's giant gummy Easter bunny from her basket since she doesn't like chocolate:
We dyed Easter eggs in the afternoon, and everyone enjoyed it!
Easter dinner! We had our traditional feast, even though it was just our family, and it was kind of amazing how low-key the whole holiday was:
My cute little bunnies:
I was so grateful to have a chance to celebrate Jesus Christ with my little family! Though it was not how we originally planned the holiday (my sister was supposed to be visiting us at this time), it was wonderful just the same.
