March 2020

Lots of "Then and Now" collages this month:

We had a fun St. Patrick's Day! Here's my cute little leprauchans:

We had our traditional leprechaun treasure hunt, which included green milk and green toilet water:

Found the pot of gold (candy) under Ivy's bed!

Rainbow jello and green food for dinner:

We were all so glad when Daddy got back from his trip to Utah at the beginning of the month!

Zane matching his bunny:

During Ivy's birthday week, every time she prayed she said something like, "I'm grateful that my friends could bring me presents." This girl loves presents...

The littles have fun in the car:

We've been so grateful to play outside on the warmer days!

Hyrum has been obsessed with the song, "My Stick," which is a parody of some Star Wars scene. I would almost call it the theme song of this quarantine so far.

Hyrum had his last meet of the short course season, and he improved his times by so much!!

Our last outing as a family for awhile was to Cold Stone Creamery. We didn't know it was going to be, but I had a suspicion:

The littles both wanted to wear vests when they saw me wearing one:

Hyrum and Cora had their Parent Teacher  Conferences this month, and along with it I got to see an art show at the kids' school, with their artwork included.

Hyrum's teacher said he was doing well in school in all his subjects and is a kind friend. She also said that he seems to have this habit of reading his books at times more than reading time- like trying to hide his book reading under his desk during things like math time and social studies! This kid REALLY does like to read:

Cora's teacher also said that Cora is doing well in all of her subjects and is a kind friend and participates a lot. She said that Cora is a kid that all the other teachers she works with love too! I also heard that Cora likes to write very long stories- I think the word she used was "stamina." I'm seeing that myself now with the stories she's writing at home!

This was mine and Ryan's last outing before quarantine began. In fact, that very next day was when the avalanche of cancellations began. We got to see The Illusionists from Broadway! It was a fun magic show, though not necessarily awe-inspiring, but we definitely enjoyed our night out together!

We had a lot of fun in the snow on Ivy's birthday! The youngest three even enjoyed helping Daddy shovel:

This snowman (Heartsmallow), was so taller than Ryan!

It only took a day or two for it to start melting so much it was leaning like this:

The kids ended up just shoving it back into the yard where they had fun destroying it.

Zane told me he wants to be a space ninja when he grows up, and that he'll wear a blue costume to blend in with the blue (of outer-space).

Ivy calls Disney's Rapunzel "wind in my hair," because that's the song Rapunzel sings in her TV series. She also requests to have ranch on her plate every night at dinner, no matter what we're having, and generally likes everything she eats to be dipped in ranch (Doritos, quesadillas, carrots, chicken, pork, etc)

Church at home! Another new experience for our family, caused by the pandemic, is having sacrament meeting and church at home. All church meetings and activities have been canceled, so we've been instructed to do it at home. It has actually been really great for our family, and I have felt the Spirit so strongly when Ryan blesses the sacrament for our little family. It's also been a good chance for our kids to practice bearing their testimonies, since they will never do it at church. I've enjoyed teaching the kids the primary music too! I do miss going to church, but this has been a unique and good experience for our family so far!

Cora is the type of girl who loves to help little kids, even Ivy with whatever they need. She's also pretty determined. She has set a goal to be able to do her back handspring by the end of the year, and she's even remembered many days in a row to ask me to spot her while she practices! I think this girl is going to do great things with her drive!

Here's our first at-home date night. Hyrum "babysat" while we ate takeout food and watched a movie in our room. All the kids put themselves to bed too. It's been working pretty well so far (with all this time at home we need a break), and I think it's good practice for Hyrum and the kids!

One Saturday this month (after quarantine) we went to the Safari Drive Thru near our home! It was a fun thing to do to see the animals and just do something different than be home:

My favorite were the cranes- they kept making loud noises, stopping in front of our car, and even walking in front of our car along the road like it was leading us:

Cuties during at home church:

I tried to take some pictures to send our parents for April, and these are the best of the bunch:

Ivy insists on wearing a skirt every day now, so she can be a princess (so she says):
