June 2020

Then and Nows for the month!

About a 4 year difference:

 Last summer, this summer:

About 12 years difference here!
The kids made their names out of pretzels one snack time this month:

This is a different summer than usual for us, due to Covid-19 and moving to Utah. We usually have a Summer Fun List, swim lessons, summer camps, and a big trip somewhere. All of that is cancelled. So, instead, I am doing one fun/different thing with the kids every day of the summer this year (minus Sundays). I first called it a fun thing every day, but then not all of the kids agree that every thing I pick to do is fun, so we now call it something different to do every day :)

So, croquet was one of our things in June!

The kids also get outside time every day (whether they like it or not):

Daddy is a good pillow:

We learned about being missionaries one Sunday, and here were the companionships:

Cora and I made homemade donuts!

Playing in the sprinklers fun:

Ivy doesn't like to play in the sprinklers, so she played with the water table instead:

Little worn out Ivy:

Sometimes Ryan and I go for runs on our daily workouts, and Ivy likes to come:

Our city is celebrating its 150 year anniversary, so they just placed around 30 butterfly benches all over, and we went and looked at a few:

Cora made a mug chocolate chip cookie with her primary activity group:

We borrowed a kiddie pool from a friend to play in one morning!

We went to Platte River State Park one morning, and played in Crawdad Creek for a few hours!

Ryan and Hyrum kept looking for crawdads, but they never did find one. It's a nice thing to do on a hot day, because the water is freezing cold and the little ponds are in the shade!

All the kids had their dentist appointments this month! Only one cavity among all four- yay!

Love my cuddle bug:

Ryan and I had a "date night in a box" one night, which included this fun game:

The kids had a blast in the fountain at the Joslyn art museum one morning. We mostly had it to ourselves!

The kids pretended to be statues (the fountain is located in their statue garden). Apparently this was "The Heroes, the Villain, and the Dead":

They have such a pretty building!

There are many days that the kids spend playing with the water guns and buckets full of water:

I'm going to miss this view from the gazebo in our backyard!

We played games as our different thing one day, and Hyrum picked to play Beard Ball:

We went to Kenefick Park one morning, which was a little underwhelming, but it was cool to see how big the trains really are!

We stopped by the kids' schools one morning to say goodbye to where they've made so many good memories. Here's Zane at his preschool: Walnut Creek Elementary.

The older kids at Patriot Elementary:

June has been full of a lot more fun than May! Hopefully things just continue to improve, though July will be full of a lot of goodbyes and the big move!
