Pioneer and Spirit of the Wilderness Parks

One Saturday morning in June we went to visit Pioneer Park and Spirit of the Wilderness Park in downtown Omaha. I had heard of it and actually seen a couple pictures of it before, but had never actually visited them. The parks were pretty small, but it was a perfect family outing for a hot summer morning.

I told our kids to pretend they were walking along the trail as pioneers, and this was how they posed. I don't doubt it's 100% accurate:

We followed the bison from Pioneer Park to Spirit of the Wilderness Park just down the street:

This bison jumped right through the wall!

Spirit of the Wilderness Park was pretty much just this big fountain, but it was still cool:

The kids' favorite part of this outing was the little splash area we found in front of this bank across the street from the park. Ivy doesn't really like splash pads, so she just stuck with me, but the other kids got soaked:
