April went by so fast! Probably because of Spring Break at the beginning of it, but we had a good month!
Here are Google's Then and Nows for the month:
For April Fool's Day this year, I saw that a local cupcake bakery was making "Chinese food" cupcakes that looked pretty realistic, so we got those for the kids. We told the kids we didn't have time to make dinner that night, so Daddy was going to pick up some Chinese food take-out. They were whining (they don't like take-out generally), and then when we opened it up, they kept whining, but we forced them to try it, and Zane was the first to notice that it was actually frosting and cake! The cake was delicious, and it was a fun prank:
For U week for preschool, we did the United States of America. Ivy learned about flags and our nation's symbols, sang Yankee Doodle Dandee, did a parade, and so many other fun things:
Ivy, acting like the Statue of Liberty:
This little cutie got this rainbow backpack for her birthday from Grandma and Grandpa Martin, and she loves wearing it everywhere:
Silly raspberry-fingered kiddos:Ivy loves doing Daddy's hair:
We went on a walk on Sunday afternoon because we've had so many days of nice weather! We got a cold passed around the family this month, and it eventually hit all of us, so it's nice to remember a day when none of us were sick in April:
We did W for Weather for preschool one week, and since Zane was sick for a couple of the days, he got to join Ivy and I for preschool. We did "cloud" (shaving cream) writing, sun ray counting and cutting, rain/water play, rainbow painting, wind sock making, chalk "puddle" jumping, and rainbow hokey-pokey, plus so much more:
Zane started soccer again this month! He does a good job staying in there, and usually kicks the ball quite a few times to help his team each time he's in. Ryan is the assistant coach this season, and he did a great job when the coach was gone one game:

We did one-on-one dates with the kids this month, and Zane got to go first! He and I went to Kneaders for dinner, then to a trampoline park. I think he loved having me follow him everywhere he went and being able to do what he wanted, when he wanted:
Next up was Cora's date! She and I went swimming at the Provo recreation center (which she's been wanting to do for a long time), she got to rock climb there a little, then we went to Culver's so she could dip her fries in her ice cream. It was great getting some one-on-one time with her!
Cora was sick one day when we did preschool too, so she got to join in for X for xylophone day:
We also did X marks the spot (pirate theme) and X for X-ray (she's making a skeleton in this playdough camel):
Ryan couldn't find Ivy after treatments one night, then discovered her here, asleep:
Cora is such a sweet big sister teaching Ivy to roller skate:
Ryan took Hyrum for his one-on-one date to the Nickelcade and then to Brick Oven pizza for dinner. They had a blast!
Then they went to dinner at Costa Vida, where Ivy discovered a love for tres leches cake!
It was a fun month!

We do charades some Sunday evenings (the kids LOVE it), and Ryan caught this gem of me being a weight-lifter:
Hyrum got a new chore this spring- mowing the lawn! He's getting the hang of it and doesn't mind it as much now that he's done it a couple times:Ryan took Hyrum for his one-on-one date to the Nickelcade and then to Brick Oven pizza for dinner. They had a blast!
Ryan also took Ivy for her date, and they went to the Curiosity Museum at Thanksgiving Point:
