June 2023

 Fun Google collage:

Hyrum went to Youth Conference at the beginning of June! He ended up feeling sick and got a really bad headache so I had to bring him home early, but he really loved the first day and a half.
When I cut Hyrum's hair this month I noticed that some of his hair at the nape of his neck is blond. Pretty cool:

We went to the local splash pad a few times this month, and it was fun to have friends join us too:
Cora did her "Broadway Beginners" summer camp this month at UVU. She had fun, and it was fun watching her perform her song and dance at the end!

Ice cream truck goodies:

We went on a hike with friends this month on the Jungle Trail. It was short and full of poison ivy, but still fun!

Grandma and Grandpa Martin joined us for a tour of the new Saratoga Springs temple this month. It was beautiful, and I could feel how this new temple would bring more of God's precious power to the Earth:

Beautiful view from the temple over the valley:

I took the younger three to Farm Country while Hyrum was at Youth Conference:

We went to the BYU IS Alumni party at the Provo Rec Center and had fun together there:

Some of our old friends from high school, college, and Tucson came to Utah and stayed with us one night. It was fun to catch up and see how their kids have grown!

Fun date night with Ryan that included an outing to Cinnaholic:

Both Zane and Ivy had swim lessons this month! Zane is now able to swim freestyle and backstroke about 25 yards without stopping! I loved that we were able to do the lessons indoors this year:

The second hike we did this year was to Lower Bell Canyon Reservoir. It was another pretty easy hike that ended at a beautiful little reservoir.

While Ivy was at a birthday party one Saturday I took Cora and Zane to the children's museum:

The girls have been starting to want me to do their hair on Sundays, and it's kind of fun:

Ryan and I did Parade of Homes a few times this month, and it's always fun to see the giant homes:

We had a fun patriotic snack right before the 4th of July that included blue and red ice and a red, white, and blue charcuterie board:

I crashed our minivan this month- my first real accident I've ever been in. I was turning left out of a parking lot and didn't see the big truck coming (it's a very tricky place to turn left), so I ended up hitting the very back of it with the front side of our van. Thankfully, everyone involved in the accident was totally fine. The van was undrivable, so it's been at a shop for a month while the insurance and the mechanic worked it out. We'll hopefully have it back near the beginning of August. We've had to rent a van while we wait, and while I'm super grateful to have a car that can carry our whole family, I really miss my own van.

I took Hyrum on his date (from Christmas) this month. We went to Tucano's for dinner, then to the Utah Symphony at Thanksgiving Point. It was a beautiful performance under the beautiful evening sky:

It did get pretty cold as time went by, so we bundled up under our blankets:

The performance ended with some fun fireworks!

The kids finally got their summer movie day, and they had fun eating yummy treats, popcorn, and watching movies all day:

We had a great June and are loving summer! We don't want it to end!
