The third day of our cruise we went to Half Moon Cay, one of Carnival's private islands. Here we are on the ferry to get there (we were on that ferry forever):
It was a cute little island with a couple of shops:
The beach on Half Moon Cay was the best I've ever been to to! The sand was so soft and clean, the water was the perfect temperature and the sand under the water was still soft and rock-free. It was amazing and beautiful!
We just pretty much hung out in the water the whole day:
Here's a picture of our ship from the beach:
There was this big floating pad that we played on for a bit. Ryan, me, and another couple even played king of the mountain on it, though I lost that.
The island was pretty even from afar:
Yummy dinner and non-alcoholic drink that night:
Watching a movie on the cruise ship deck that night:
The next day the cruise ship docked in Nassau, Bahamas. Some of our group went on an excursion to Pearl Island:
It was fun to see the big houses on the coast in Nassau:
Atlantis hotel:
Pearl Island:
We got to feed and hang out with some iguanas on the island:
It was cool to check out the little island we were on:
We went up the stairs at the light house and got a pretty view:
Ryan even got to see some of their networking equipment, and he was pretty excited about that:
We also snorkeled on the island, and we saw a tiny reef and some sunken pirate sculptures, a sunken boat, and a sunken plane:
The waves were pretty intense the day we were there, they even knocked over some trash cans on the island while we were there. We were able to get some pictures with them:
After the island we went around Nassau for just a small amount of time, and it was pretty much like a swap meet in Mexico. But we got some good pictures with the ship!
We came back to a fun towel heart on the bed:
Ryan tried frog legs at dinner that night:
Our last night on the cruise ship we did some karaoke with the group. The men did "Bye Bye Bye" by N*Sync:
The women sang "Oops I Did It Again" by Britney Spears:
The next day we disembarked then headed on an excursion to the Everglades:
We saw some alligators get really close to our fan boat:
It was cool to see these plants that looked like they would grow back after the air boat ran over them:
Ryan got to feed one of the birds along the way:
Then we saw an alligator show where the guy put his head in an alligator's mouth:
We even got to hold a little alligator!
After the Everglades we headed to the Miami airport for our flight home. We had a LONG wait for our flight, so we had lots of fun in the airport with our friends talking, laughing, running races, parkour, riding our luggage, and other shenanigans:
We were lucky enough to have an extra seat in our row on our flight out, but then there was some crazy weather as we were supposed to be taking off, so we ended up sitting on a blisteringly hot plane for an hour before it ever took off. It was awful. But we did make it home that night, so yay!

It was a really, really fun trip, mostly because we went with such fun friends. It filled my cup in the best way and I was so glad to get to do that with Ryan. We were so grateful for Ryan's parents for watching the kids for us so we could take that amazing trip!
