October 2023

We had a fun October! I can't believe how much my kids have grown:

We started the month with some General Conference watching for our church. We made sure to have ice cream sundaes for the Saturday evening session of conference:

Somehow the kids always want to pile on top of us while watching conference:

Zane made a cool balloon car at his primary activity, and Ivy wanted to build one too, so she did hers at home:

Tea party with Grandma and Grandpa Martin when they were in town:

Zane and his best friend making a cool display:

Cora got on student council at her school! She has really been loving it. She got to go to BYU for a training one day this month:

I went on a hike up to Timpanogos cave with some friends this month. They really pushed me to go fast, so it was a great workout with an incredible view!

The CF kids had an appointment at Primary Children's this month, so afterwards we got to go to a fun diner in SLC:

Cora got to hang out with Ryan on BYU campus while we were at the CF appointment, so she got some Cannon Center lunch!

Ryan and I went to a comedy show by Aaron Weber at Wiseguys this month- he loves listening to a podcast he's on so Ryan was really excited!

After the comedy show we got a yummy churro concoction:

We played tetherball as our family activity for FHE one Sunday. In the Ryan vs. Hyrum tetherball tournament, Ryan won:

Our PTA ran the book fair this month, so I put in many, many hours to help make it happen. It was fun, but so much work:

Hyrum's first orchestra concert of the school year! He did a great job, and Grandpa Martin even got to be there to watch:

There was a ring of fire eclipse this month, and while we weren't able to drive down South to see it in totality, it was cool to see what we could see from home. All of our neighbors were out watching it too!

Even the shadows looked like little half moons:

Ryan and I went on another date to see a play, "Catch Me If You Can," at the Hale in Sandy. It was fun!

Cora and Zane were in the primary program this month. They did a great job! Cora even gave a little talk she wrote about how cleaning her feet after they're all dirty at the lake feels so good, and how that is like repentance. It was Cora's last program, and my last one in the primary presidency, so it was a little bittersweet. Ivy was supposed to be in it, but she got sick that day so she had to miss it and Ryan watched the broadcast from home:

Hyrum had some spirit dress-up days at school, and he looked pretty cool for the Top Gun day:

Cora got to wear the blow-up T-Rex mascot costume for her school's assembly this month since she's in student council. All the little kids loved high fiving her and giving her hugs:

It was a fun and really full month, and I'm always glad anytime we get to do things together as a family and I get to see my kids grow and learn!
