Zane's 9th Birthday

Zane turned nine in November! With his birthday being on a holiday this year, we kind of celebrated him for a week instead of on his actual  birthday. He had a birthday party the Saturday before with some of his friends, and here was the setup for that at home:

Everyone met at our house, then I took them over to Nickel City for some arcade games and pizza!

Zane got to spin the wheel to get 500 extra tickets!

After Nickel City, everyone came back to my house for some cake:

Since Zane's birthday was on Thanksgiving this year, he wanted an ice cream turkey cake, and it looked pretty great!

It's hard to get this kid to smile normally:

Blowing out the candles:

Opening presents from his friends (he got Legos, a nerf gun, and a geode set):

I brought Zane lunch at school on the day his class celebrated his birthday:

We celebrated Zane's birthday a day early this year so it didn't interfere with Thanksgiving, and it started with breakfast in bed. We had to get up pretty early to still catch Zane in bed! He chose puffy pancakes, cookies and cream milk, and berries:

I can't believe my little boy is nine already!

Zane loved opening his presents. He got Legos, Mario Wonder video game, shark slippers, Pokémon cards, a sweater with a Z on it, a 3D pen, and more:

Later that morning we went to the movie Wish with everyone:

Then we went to an early dinner at Texas Roadhouse:

After Texas Roadhouse we drove up to Garden City to be with the Schuetzlers for Thanksgiving. Once we got there we all sang to Zane for his birthday with his tres leches cake:

It was so fun to celebrate Zane!  Here's my Instagram post:

Happy birthday to my Thanksgiving baby! Since Z's birthday was on Thanksgiving this year, he wanted an extra special turkey cake- he even told his friends they were having turkey instead of cake at his party :)

Zane is full of life and passion, and is really such a loving boy. He is a great friend, smart, such a good listener at school and church, witty, silly, and lately loves to do the Griddy everywhere he goes. He loves to play outside with friends, loves trading Pokémon, playing games, and loves to eat treats and sugary things of all kinds. He made a goal this year to try out a lot of different sports to see what he likes best, and he's tried wrestling, basketball, soccer, tennis, volleyball, tumbling, flag football, and will try swim team this summer! I sure love this boy and am so grateful he's mine.
