We started homeschool this week! It has been nice to have a schedule, though the hardest part is having to balance the different educational needs of four kids. I think I'm getting it down though.
The kids have "enrichment time" every day where they get to choose what they do, but it needs to be doing something, not just playing. The first day the boys chose to build- Zane made a house hat:
Hyrum made a boy out of Legos:
Cora read with her Caticorn for her school's spirit day:
We used some tangrams for math with the littles:
We're learning about the human body all together for science, and here we built a body with playdough using crayons as the bones:
For Cora's enrichment time one day, she did a science experiment with baking soda and vinegar:
And Hyrum did the snap circuit kit:
Thank you notes for their teachers (who they're missing and they can't see right now):
We went for a walk around Shadow Lake for "Walk Wednesday":
The kids' teachers did a parade so they could wave to the kids one afternoon. My kids loved it and it did make me tear up a little:
The littles had a Zoom gymnastics class one morning:
We made a spine model for science:
Cora had a Zoom gymnastics class one afternoon:
Hyrum had a zoom meeting with his teacher and his whole class (he also got to play video games online with his best friend this week):
Ryan's "cubicle" in our home office, complete with green screen:
Labeling the muscles of our body:
More enrichment building time:
And to celebrate our first week of homeschool- TP cupcakes. Really, TP has pretty much become the symbol of this quarantine, so it's a funny way to memorialize it:
It was a pretty good week! Only (hopefully) five more to go!
