Trip to Idaho- September 2020

At the beginning of September we visited my sister in Idaho for a fun weekend trip!

The first day we went to the Lava Hot Springs in Lava. It was pretty much a giant hot tub, and the very hottest one was a tad bit too hot for us, but the coolest one was good for everyone:

They had really pretty grounds around the hot springs:

Next door to the hot springs was a sunken garden that was free (and tiny), so we wandered through it for a few minutes:

Then we saw a bunch of people with tubes heading down the river and a lot of places to rent a tube, so we decided we needed to try it. It was so fun!

We ended our time in Lava with some square ice cream:

That night we made some s'mores over Mindi's fire pit at her house. She also had some fun little fireworks that were pretty cool to throw into the fire:

The next day we went to the zoo in Idaho Falls. I love this zoo because it's so small you can see everything in an hour or two:

Zane loves the zebra because it starts with Z like Zane!

Cora loved the singing dog!

That evening we went to my sister's friend's house to swim in their pool (the kids have missed swimming this summer). It was pretty cold, but we brought some tubes and fun noodles and the kids had a blast paddling in them and fighting each other:

We got some Krispy Kones in Rexburg that night, and they were delicious!

Sometimes Ivy sleeps weird when we're in new places:

On Sunday we had our service at home, then went to see the Rexburg temple:

Then we went to see the gardens on the BYU-I campus. They're so pretty!

We went to these gardens last time when I visited Mindi about 6 years ago, so we tried to recreate the experience:

That evening we all had our first experiences pulling real carrots out of the ground at Mindi's friend's house! It was harder than I thought. We ate them later in a dish at home, and they were yummy!

We ended our Sunday with a tea (aka juice) party set up by Mindi:

We had a great time in Idaho, and we're happy we live so close to Mindi now that we can visit more often!
