Zane's 8th Birthday

Zane turned 8 in November! We had fun celebrating him- he had a small party this year, with just his best friend coming with us to Provo Beach to celebrate. They played laser tag, bowling, arcade games, played in the big playplace, and did croquet:

Then we went back to the house for pizza for dinner, video games, and cake and ice cream. Another of Zane's friends and our neighbors came for that part of the party. He had a super hero theme:

He decided he wanted a Dr. Strange cake this year made with funfetti cake filled with vanilla mousse and fresh strawberries. It was delicious, and I had fun making it!

He had fun opening presents, and he had fun celebrating with his friends!

On his actual birthday a few days later, he got breakfast in bed- crepes and chocolate milk:

Then he got to open his presents. He got Pokémon sheets, a Pokémon video game, a Captain America bobble head, a Zuru smashers, and his favorite- Krypto the dog from Superpets:

For lunch on his birthday we went to Pizza Pie Cafe:
Then the whole family went to a movie- Strange World:

Grandma and Grandpa Schuetzler and Dallen then joined us for dinner. Zane chose popcorn chicken, grilled cheese, apple teeth, blueberries and blue jello for his special birthday dinner. Grandma and Grandpa Schuetzler gave him a present too- scriptures and a case of his very own!

In the thank you note he wrote to them for his scriptures he wrote, "Dear Grandma and Grandpa, thank you for the scriptures. Now I can follow the Lord. You will be blessed. Your favorite grandson, Zane."

After dinner we went to Menchie's for Zane's favorite treat- frozen yogurt loaded high with candy and toppings:
That night Zane put Krypto to bed in a little doll bed by his bed to sleep. It was adorable!

I'm grateful for Zane! He loves to throw out one liners that always make me chuckle, is so well behaved at church and school, can be very sweet to his little sister, still loves a good cuddle, loves sweets all day every day, is becoming such a tenacious wrestler, and knows Jesus is the answer to every question. We love him and are glad he's part of our family!
