Ryan turned the big 4-0 this year! We wanted to celebrate in a big way for such a milestone birthday. His biggest celebration was to go to Belize to scuba dive for three full days, and it was a dream trip for him. He went with his swim team buddies and they just had the best time, and Ryan loved it because he LOVES scuba diving and loves seeing fish!
The Saturday before his birthday we had a big cheesecake party where we invited everyone we knew to come celebrate- work friends, church friends, and swim friends:
We had a great turnout, and I was glad we got to celebrate Ryan like this. I made banana cream pie cheesecake, chocolate truffle cheesecake, chocolate chip cookie dough cheesecake, and coconut macadamia nut cheesecake (other people brought desserts too):
We had a fun birthday celebration at home too, and Ryan got breakfast in bed (omelet and cinnamon rolls) and a carne asada taco dinner. He got a paddle board and a hammock too!
His actual birthday was while we were at Bear Lake, so I made another chocolate chip cookie dough cheesecake and us and the DeVores celebrated him that day too. Natalie introduced us to the "Happy Birthday Ryan" song, which got played and sung quite a bit all day long. One of the best lines of that song is, "you're getting old."
