My parents and Mindi came to Nebraska for Cora's baptism, and then they stayed a few extra days to have fun and hang out with us!
We got some Godfather's pizza one night, since it was founded in Omaha, and also in tribute to my brother, whose first job was as a delivery boy for them!
Mindi, me, and the kids went to Crawdad Creek one morning, and this time we remembered to bring hot dogs to try to catch a crawdad. It didn't work, but the kids had fun "fishing." They did end up finding a tadpole though, and a little girl was even able to catch it in her jar so we were all able to examine it!
Ivy loves having Grandma read to her! But she also gets worn out:
One of the days they were visiting we went to the Omaha zoo for the last time! We had to wear masks in the heat, and a lot of the exhibits were closed, but it was still nice to go one more time! We went through the aquarium:
And we saw the jungle:
And we took Mindi through the new Asian exhibit:
Since Grandma and Grandma Martin hadn't come in so long, they had some past-due birthday gifts for Ivy to open, and she was thrilled!
And of course, they had to have their tea party with Grandma and Grandpa (Ivy asks about it every time we FaceTime with them!):
On their last full day visiting we went to the Louisville Recreation Area, where they have a little beach on one of their little lakes that you can swim in:
Grandpa even rented one of these water trikes for us to try- and it was a lot of fun, though hard work!
The kids enjoyed driving around Grandma's electric wheelchair!
