Ivy likes it when Hyrum holds her like a baby and plays the "Hush Little Baby" song on Alexa:
And then Ivy likes to do the same thing to her doll:
We got to go on a date to the new Spiderman movie when my parents came into town!
There was a really cool break in the clouds one evening, with sun just pouring through an otherwise dark sky:
Treatment time with the Schuetzlers:
Ivy loves to play with pretend phones. She says, "I take-a pishur a you." Then after she looks at the phone seriously, she turns it to you and says, "Wanna see?"
When you ask Ivy why she needs something, she says, "Cuz I want to!"
Here is our harvest of raspberries from the pot on our patio! They actually tasted pretty sour, so I don't think I'll even water that plant next year:
We had swim lessons this month again!
Hyrum was in the highest level class this session, and I just really loved how he kept going on those longer distances, even though he was a bit further behind the other kids. His teacher noticed his perseverance too!
Ivy and Zane liked to swing like monkeys from the hand rail while they waited for the other kids to finish their swim lessons too:
We went to a lot of museum-type places this month, and we figured out how much Hyrum loves to read the signs. We almost had to leave him behind a few times because he was so caught up in reading and learning! That's actually how both Ryan and I are too when we don't have kids with us, so it should be fun to go to museums with him when all the kids are older!
When I was driving Cora somewhere this month, she told me, "When I grow up I'm going to be a dancer, gymnastics teacher, normal mom like you, or a princess. I'll go to England and convince the King and Queen that I should be one."
Cora took a break from gymnastics this summer, and she tried a dance class instead. She liked it, but not enough to stop gymnastics!
Zane says "See ya' suckah!" a lot as he runs away. When we told him that wasn't a nice to thing to say, he started to say, "See ya' up!"
This month when Zane was on the toilet he yelled to me, "I want to poop, but the poop isn't letting me!"
We've been cutting out naps for Zane this summer, since he has afternoon preschool when school starts. However, some days he just can't hang in there until bedtime:
This month we got to see The Amazing Stinko! It bloomed a couple of years ago and we missed it, so we made a point to get there when it was in bloom this time. Unfortunately, the stink had already passed, but still cool to see such a giant flower!
We also passed by some pretty flowers at Lauritzen gardens on our way out:
Ivy LOVES to get her picture taken, and will ask me to take her picture at really any time of the day:
Then and Now pictures from Google (around 2013 and 2019):
