Ryan and Tricia Trip to Cancun!

Ryan and I got to go to Cancun this August, just the two of us! Ryan had a conference there and I tagged along, while my parents were so amazing to watch our kids for us while we were gone. They are the best!

Here we are on the flight out:

Our view from our hotel room (the first night, at least):

The beach! There was a ton of seaweed a couple of the days we were there, but it was still fun!

One of the days we went to Cozumel- here we are on the ferry out:

I went to the Discover Mexico! museum while Ryan went scuba diving in Cozumel. I did the chocolate tour, where I learned about its history, made my own chocolate, and even got a chocolate (virgin) margarita:

A cool scuba diving sculpture on Cozumel:

The last night of Ryan's conference they had a big party with an amazing Folklorico performance, buffet, and fireworks!

On our anniversary we went to Chichen Itza! Here's the ancient ball court:

An ancient stage for dancing:

Their sacred cenote where they threw things in to "Shebulba":

The castle (temple):

Warrior temple:

The marketplace:

The jungle:

Later that day we visited and swam in three different cenotes. Oxman, our first one, was our favorite:

You could even swing into this one!

We ate our best Mexican food of the trip at the restaurant at the Oxman cenote:

We went to two other cenotes as well: X'keken and Samula.

There were definitely lots of skeletons all over Cancun:

Our last morning in Cancun we spent on the beach, of course!

Our hotel was right near Coco Bongo, and there were always men dressed in The Mask costumes hanging around!

It was a great trip and so nice to have some time alone together, but we were definitely glad to see our babies again when we got home!
